IWA Regional Membrane Technology Conference (IWA-RMTC) 2026
August 26(Wed.) – 29(Sat.), 2026
Shanghai, China
The 8th IWA Regional Membrane Technology Conference (IWA-RMTC 2026) will be held in Shanghai, China, from August 26 to 29, 2026. Organized by Tongji University and endorsed by the IWA Membrane Technology Specialist Group, this event continues a distinguished biennial series that has been hosted in cities including Moscow, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, Ho Chi Minh City, Kunming, Vadodara, and Palermo since its inception in 2008. As a premier gathering for the global membrane community, the conference provides an important platform for participants from academia, industry, and the public sector to exchange cutting-edge research findings and practical innovations in water and wastewater treatment.
The technical program will encompass a broad range of key topics, spanning the fundamentals of membrane processes and fouling control to advanced applications in desalination, water reuse, and resource recovery. Particular emphasis will be placed on emerging frontiers, including novel membrane materials, sustainable development of membrane technologies, and AI-enabled membrane systems. By fostering dialogue and collaboration among international experts, IWA-RMTC 2026 aims to advance membrane science and technology toward smarter, more resilient, and sustainable water management solutions for the future.
